Red BrahmanPictured is “Red Alert” 111...ET son of 2000 International Grand Champion Red Brahman Bull “Top Gun” 581. Our Red Brahman herd has been developing over a 6-year period. The project began with “Top Gun” 581 and two partnership superior Red Brahman cows. Through the process of elimination, we have also discovered certain gray cows within our herd will produce red progeny bred with a red bull. |
Gray BrahmanBrahman (Gray and Red): The Brahman breed is very adaptable, resourceful and versatile! It has been said that Brahman influence cattle have more stamina, hybrid vigor and productive life than other breeds. Purebred Brahmans have a magical appeal to many of us who raise them. Aside from their grace and beauty, they are excellent mother cows and and continue to produce throughout their long lifetime. When handled gently, this breed can be easy keepers. Their intelligence translates into an acute memory of both good and bad. Handle with care! |
Red BrangusThe Red Brangus breed has been part of the Dana Hellen Ranch for over 15 years. Originally, we purchased several bulls for commercial use, but soon added cows and began to build our Red Brangus herd. |
Quarter HorseThe Quarter Horse is our favorite ranch horse. Since the beginning of Texas ranching, horses have been the mainstay for gathering and working cattle. We hope to keep the tradition alive and continue to raise registered Quarter Horses. Keep watching for new foals. |
CharolaisPictured are some young purchased Charolais bulls. The Charolais Bull plays a very important role in Dana Hellen Ranch’s commercial program. The calves produced from our mature F-1 commercial cows make up the “income crop”. |
